Kolomoisky Igor Valerievich

InfoPhotoVideoAudioDocs

Everyone knows the name of Igor Kolomoisky. In particular, this name is associated with PrivatBank. But if you delve into the history of this oligarch, you can find no less egregious facts, and other firms and enterprises besides PrivatBank. Igor Valerievich is a very influential person, a lot of companies are registered in his name, including offshore ones, thanks to which money laundering is successfully carried out. The United States and England opposed him, considering him a criminal and a dangerous corrupt official, and if Kolomoisky is afraid of foreign justice, then in Ukraine he is completely safe, because most of the Verkhovna Rada, including the head of state, are his personal dolls, thanks to which Igor Valerievich adjusts everything "under yourself".

NOT official biography

Communication with the organized crime group

In February 2009, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Renat Kuzmin stated that the Kapitoshki organized criminal group (OCG) carried out the order of the Privat group during a conflict with Forum Bank for Kremenchug Steel Plant OJSC (KSZ, Poltava region). It was allegedly in 2006. Then, to carry out the capture of the KSZ, the raiders attracted about four hundred people armed with firearms, bats and chainsaws.

Sponsor of “Freedom” Oleg Tyagnybok

In March 2009, Communist leader Petro Symonenko announced that, according to his information, businessman Igor Kolomoisky provided funding for the election campaign of the Svoboda association to the Ternopil Regional Council. “Do you see what you did with the elections in Ternopil to the regional council? I reminded the representatives of this people that in 1932 they brought Hitler to power, representatives of this people, and Kolomoisky financed the elections of Svoboda,” Symonenko said (UkrRudProm, March 21, 2009). There was no reaction from Igor Kolomoisky.

taxes and debts

In one of his interviews, the current Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Dmitry Vydrin, said that when trying to return some debts, Igor Kolomoisky answered him: “I do not pay taxes and do not return debts.” Igor Valeryevich denies this fact and says that Vydrin has apologized to him more than once for this.. True, privately, not publicly. “If I can throw someone, then I throw” and “I don’t pay taxes at all” are the principles of Igor Kolomoisky. This is stated not only by Dmitry Vydrin, but also by Konstantin Grigorishin (Kyiv Telegraph, September 5, 2005). In September 2008, the State Tax Administration of Ukraine disclosed a new tax evasion scheme used by Privat group companies.. Using this scheme, Privat allegedly saved UAH 400 million on taxes. According to the STA, after the Vesna company was “exposed” by it, the group simply replaced it with another enterprise. To do this, the Demol-service company was urgently registered in the Khmelnytsky region, which continued to operate according to the established scheme.

Assassination attempt on lawyer Grigorishin

A criminal case was initiated against Igor Kolomoisky in connection with the attempt on the life of businessman Konstantin Grigorshin's lawyer, Sergei Karpenko. The lawyer was severely stabbed. In this regard, a criminal case was initiated against Kolomoisky twice – during the presidency of Kuchma and later – when Viktor Yushchenko came to power.. According to Igor Valeryevich himself, the first time a criminal case against him was initiated by Viktor Pinchuk. The reopening of the criminal case against him in 2005 was due to the fact that the then Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Petro Poroshenko wanted to put him behind bars. Kolomoisky denies his involvement in the case of the attempt on Sergei Karpenko: “The lawyer you are talking about worked for Pinchuk and Grigorishin. I think that these businessmen carefully developed this whole procedure and launched it into business.. But even under that political regime, they could not start a criminal case against me, it turned out only “in fact”. True, I don’t know if there was one at all, since I have a paper where it says that the opening of a criminal case was refused due to the lack of corpus delicti” (“Zerkalo Nedeli”, August 20, 2005). In July 2007, Igor Kolomoisky lost the trial to Konstantin Grigorishin. The initiator of the lawsuit was Igor Valeryevich himself, who in the autumn of 2004 acquired from Konstantin Grigorishin approximately half of his shares in eight oblenergos. Kolomoisky went to court after the events around Poltavaoblenergo and Prykarpattyaoblenergo, when in 2005 Grigorishin tried to establish his management at the enterprise. According to the court decision, Kolomoisky had to compensate Grigorshin $ 10 million as compensation for lost profits from the oblenergo.

Corporate conflicts

Igor Kolomoisky was known as a person involved in corporate disputes. At one time, he was in conflict with Viktor Pinchuk over the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, with Vadim Novinsky over the South GOK, with Rinat Akhmetov over Dneproenergo. Kolomoisky is called one of the active raiders of Ukraine. Igor Valeryevich himself says that in each case he fights for justice: “My interest lies in the following: I do not want me, the Privat group or any other company in Ukraine, except for SCM, to be deprived of the opportunity to participate in what we considers it necessary” (“Ukrainska Pravda”, March 31, 2008). One of Kolomoisky’s associates, Gennady Korban, explains Igor Valeryevich’s behavior in corporate disputes as follows: “In fact, any corporate conflict is not resolved in courts, with the help of punitive bodies or political will. Any corporate conflict is resolved by agreement of the parties. Although Kolomoisky has many conflicts, as a result he comes to some kind of agreement. And the people with whom he was in conflict eventually become Kolomoisky's partners…. Their mass. There was a conflict with Vadim Novinsky at the Southern GOK, or with Viktor Pinchuk at the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant. Now they are Kolomoisky's partners,” says Gennady Korban.

The conflict around Ozerka

Representatives of the Privat group had a conflict with the now deceased representative of the so-called Luzhnikovskaya group – Maxim Kurochkin. The subject of the dispute is the Ozerka market, the largest in Dnepropetrovsk. During the conflict, an attempt was made on the life of Gennady Korban, a member of the Privat group.. “Dnepropetrovsk is our hometown, and we decided to intervene in this matter. We gave signals to the presidential administration and the regional administration that the competition for the sale of Ozerka was being prepared for one buyer. Well, Nikopol, son-in-law of the president, if you want it – turn it back. Well, Krivorozhstal is a strategic enterprise. If you don’t want Russians or Americans to get it, make a competition for Ukrainian businessmen. But “Ozerka” has something to do with it? What is the geopolitical position of this market? This is how we got involved in this process.. Despite the fact that we did not have any economic interest there, there is not and will not be”. (“Zerkalo Nedeli”, August 20, 2005). March 27, 2007 in Kyiv, when leaving the building of the Svyatoshinsky District Court of the capital, Maxim Kurochkin was killed by a sniper. Who killed him and why is still unknown.. Before that, an associate of Kurochkin, the director of the largest Dnepropetrovsk market “Ozerka”, Vladimir Vorobyov, was shot dead in Dnepropetrovsk, and on March 16, 2007, three of Kurochkin's “positions” were shot near Kyiv.

Igor Kolomoisky owns over 40% of the largest oil producer in Ukraine OJSC Ukrnafta. He controls the Kremenchuk oil refinery. Owns the ski resort “Bukovel”, football clubs “Dnepr” (Dnepropetrovsk) and “Kryvbas” (Krivoy Rog). In 2009, information appeared that Igor Kolomoisky, together with Leonid Chernovetsky, acquired the Arsenal football club (Kyiv) from Vadim Rabinovich. According to Gennady Korban, Kolomoisky owns a ferroalloy holding that controls 20-30% of the global ferroalloy market. At the end of December 2007, he acquired 12.62% of the British oil and gas company JKX Oil & Gas, about 80% of whose oil and gas assets are located in Ukraine. Together with Gennady Bogolyubov, he controls over 10% of the shares of Ferrexpo, the company of Konstantin Zhevago. In August 2007, he acquired a 3% stake in CME, which controls the 1+1 TV channel.. He later bought the TV channel. At the end of 2007, Igor Kolomoisky and partners became shareholders of the Russian Evraz Group (about 10%). In March 2008, Igor Kolomoisky announced that he was negotiating with Dmitry Firtash and Ivan Fursin to buy their stake in RosUkrEnergo. Kolomoisky was a partner of Alexander Tretyakov in the media holding, which includes: the UNIAN news agency, the Newspaper in Kiev, the Profile magazine, the Glavred magazine, Novaya Gazeta, the TET television company, the Telekritika online publication, Glavred, TV channel City. In 2010, Igor Valeryevich bought out part of his partner and established full control over the Glavred-media holding. “Kolomoisky doesn’t like to sell anything at all. He, like Plyushkin, only buys,” Gennady Korban, one of his associates in the Privat group, characterizes Igor Valeryevich. In 2009, Kolomoisky won the tender for the privatization of the Odessa Port Plant.. However, the Timoshenko government annulled the results of this competition.

Politics

The oligarch did not meddle in politics for a long time. He was only interested in multiplying the state by any available methods.. With the presence of specialists in “hostile takeover” Boris Filatov and Gennady Korban, it was easy and fearless to engage in a neat raider takeover. Moreover, without bloodshed and contract killings, as it has become in the neighborhood in the Donbass. Sometimes, of course, there were punctures, but in general, Kolomoisky's business empire kept afloat. Everything changed dramatically with the beginning of the active phase of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. If Kolomoisky (like the Dnipropetrovsk region as a whole) reacted extremely coldly to Euromaidan, the occupation of Crimea and the loss of control over the property of the Privat group there forced the businessman to abandon all business in Switzerland and return to his homeland. Without the slightest hesitation, he accepted Oleksandr Turchynov’s offer to head the Dneproga and began turning the entrusted territories with pro-Russian sentiments into an outpost capable of repelling a frontal attack of the invaders, along the way effectively troll the invaders and their misguided supporters from among the citizens of Ukraine. It is also known that Kolomoisky spent about five million to support the first Maidan in 2004. In two parliamentary campaigns (2006, 2007), the oligarch invested another forty million. In 2006, according to the businessman, Viktor Yanukovych personally offered him to enter the list of the Party of Regions. But he refused. There were also rumors that the entrepreneur was financing nationalist organizations: the VO “Svoboda” party and the “Right Sector” of Dmitry Yarosh. There was also talk about his sponsorship of Self Help and the Popular Front, as well as a number of majoritarian people's deputies. Officially, Igor Kolomoisky was engaged in politics for only a year. After the Revolution of Dignity, Acting. President Oleksandr Turchynov decided to appoint oligarchs as governors of the eastern regions to combat manifestations of separatism. In March 2014, Igor Kolomoisky tried on a new role for him: he became the head of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The cost of Kolomoisky's assets

Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky said that during the disclosure of information on PrivatBank, his fortune was estimated at $ 7.5-8 billion. He spoke about this in an interview with HB magazine. “I value the Zaporozhye Plant (of ferroalloys – Ed.) at no less than $500 million. And I generally value Nikopol (Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant – Ed.) at $1 billion,” the businessman said.. I once sold them Sukhaya Balka millions for $400, and Petrovka (DMZ im.. Petrovsky. – Ed.) million for $600. Or vice versa,” he added. Kolomoisky recalled that when he was suing Viktor Pinchuk, experts then estimated the income of one of their joint businesses for 6-7 years at $3.5 billion. At the same time, he drew attention to the non-publicity of his business in difference from their “colleagues.” “What is the difference between Kolomoisky and the rich who are in Forbes? If they say that they have shares in a company or enterprise, then they have shares in public companies for which there is a price every day. We can be assessed from zero to infinity: it can be $7 billion, it can be $70, or it can be zero. What you find in your pocket is yours,” the oligarch said. Earlier it was reported that due to a lawsuit by PrivatBank in a London court, Igor Kolomoisky had to disclose all assets worth more than 1 million pounds.

The US government opened a case against Kolomoisky. He is accused of laundering money stolen from PrivatBank

This is due to recent FBI raids. The United States Department of Justice accused Igor Kolomoisky of stealing money from PrivatBank and subsequently laundering it in the United States and other countries of the world. It is reported by the Washington Post. A civil lawsuit was filed against Kolomoisky, as well as another former co-owner of PrivatBank, Gennady Bogolyubov. It reports that they used personal bank accounts to build a business empire in the United States.. Using a network of companies to which they had one connection or another, Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov bought a lot of real estate in the United States. With laundered money in the US, they bought more than 5 million hectares of real estate in Ohio, as well as steel mills in Kentucky, West Virginia and Michigan, a mobile phone plant in Illinois and commercial real estate in Texas.. The civil lawsuit refers to the demand of the Ministry of Justice for the confiscation of Kolomoisky's assets. In addition, Kolomoisky faces criminal liability in the case of possible money laundering.. It is because of this that the FBI raided the offices of the Optima company, owned by Kolomoisky, on Tuesday.

Recently, an investigation in the United States confirmed the connection between the Surkis brothers and Kolomoisky on the sources of funds on the deposits of British companies. It states that from 2008 to 2010, the former owners of PrivatBank received loans from the bank in the amount of $361 million. At the end of July, PrivatBank stated that Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov laundered more than $800 million through the Optima group of American companies.

Ukrnafta.

Another topic that Kolomoisky touched upon is the situation in the largest oil producing company, Ukrnafta.. Sharp questions were not traditionally raised. And why? As it turned out, the number one topic is the division of the company between the state, as a shareholder, and offshore minority shareholders, which are controlled by Kolomoisky and his partners. The Privat Group has exercised operational control over the enterprise for the past fifteen years. The result is depressing. During this time, oil production more than halved from 2.9 to 1.4 million tons, gas production – three times from 3.3 to 1.1 billion cubic meters.. m, and Ukrnafta itself has become the largest debtor of the state budget. The company's tax debt exceeded UAH 14 billion, which is about 20% of the tax debt in the country. Back in August of this year, Ukrnafta received legal grounds for collecting UAH 3 billion from commercial structures affiliated with Privat. NABU succeeded in proving in court the facts of abuses in Ukrnafta as part of the investigation of the case of taking possession of crude oil for a total amount of more than UAH 7.7 billion. However, not a penny was received from the defendants. At the same time, the foreign head of Ukrnafta, Mark Rollins, is giving out winning interviews on how we can achieve mythical energy independence.. But no one is in a hurry to repay record tax debts. Minority shareholders claim the retail network of Ukrnafta, which has more than 530 gas stations. The lion's share of them was once acquired by Ukrnafta from entities affiliated with Privat. As oil market analyst Sergey Kuyun notes: “Privat” tank farms and fuel trucks are involved in the supply of fuel to Ukrnafta gas stations. How much the company loses on these manipulations, how much oil refining costs at the Kremenchug refinery, what level of losses is all a mystery,” he adds.. The plan of the Privatists, apparently, is quite unpretentious: to leave the mining business of Ukrnafta burdened with debts to the state / Naftogaz, and to get a profitable sales network for themselves. Sleight of hand and no cheating. As a result, do we have a situation in which the current status quo suits everyone, including the head of Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolev, who, on duty, is called upon to implement the policy of the state shareholder in Ukrnafta?

Igor Kolomoisky bought himself an Austrian anti-Semitic MP

Austrian deputy Peter Pilz has published court documents that speak of two persons close to the Austrian Freedom Party who, under oath, talk about buying a place on the party list for a protege of Ukrainian businessmen – Schellenbacher. The Deutsche Welle points to Schellenbacher's unexpected career success: the owner of an engineering bureau from the provinces registered in Vienna on the eve of the 2013 elections and received 9th place on the party list. As a result of the elections, the position on the list turned out to be impassable, but the three candidates who were ahead of the owner of the bureau refused the mandate, which allowed Schallenbacher to become a deputy. According to court documents, plaintiff Ernst N. claims that functionaries of the Austrian Freedom Party did not give him € 2 million for mediation services. According to him, it was he who brought Schellenbacher to the leadership of the party, and Ukrainian businessmen paid for his passage to parliament, spending € 8 million: 4 for the party fund, 2 for one of the party leaders and the plaintiff himself. The court documents indicate the names of Ukrainian businessmen – Igor Kolomoisky, his business partner and current deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Igor Palitsa and the son of the then Minister of Justice Maksym Lavrynovych. According to the Ruspres agency, ex-Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych Sr. is now under investigation on suspicion of embezzling UAH 8 million during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych. According to Ernst, he did not receive his money after the deal.. Representatives of the party and Schellenbacher deny the plaintiff's words. According to DW, Kolomoisky could have known Schallenbacher since 2012, when IBS, the latter’s property, was building a water treatment plant in Bukovel, one of the owners of which is a Ukrainian oligarch.. In addition, since 2015, Palitsa has been the executive director and co-owner of this company and founded a charitable foundation together with an Austrian deputy. The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office says that even if the information is true, there is nothing they can do, as there is no criminal liability for buying a place on a party list.

Conflict with the basketball club

A week ago, the basketball club “Dnepr” lost to its main competitor in the struggle for leadership in the Ukrainian Super League – the team “Prometheus” from the city of Kamenskoye, Dnepropetrovsk region (former Dneprodzerzhinsk) – with a score of 60:67. There are conflicting opinions about this result.. The President of “Prometheus” Vladimir Dubinsky said that the defeat of the “Dnepr” was natural. But Dnipro filed a protest, counting 16 episodes in which the judges made a mistake in favor of the opponents. But most of all, the outcome of the meeting outraged the Ukrainian oligarch and politician Igor Kolomoisky. According to the websites “Strana.ua” and “Censor.NET”, after the match, the leadership of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine and the president of the BC “Prometheus” received threats via WhatsApp from Kolomoisky demanding to punish the referees and review the result of the match. The most egregious was the attack of the oligarch on Dubinsky. According to the Strana.ua source, Kolomoisky told the owner of the Prometheus the following on the phone: “Listen, … darned, I'll break your legs! Have you decided to buy judges here?! So I'll take you to the forest. The next day, Dubinsky started having big business problems. Why was Kolomoisky so excited about the basketball theme? It's simple, the oligarch has a personal interest in basketball – since this season, 20-year-old Grigory Kolomoisky, the son of a businessman, has been playing for Dnipro. Gregory lacks stars from the sky, but has a good base – in the past he played in student teams in the USA, and then played in Israel. Born in Switzerland, Kolomoisky Jr. is one of the richest heirs of Ukraine, but so far prefers to build a sports career with the help of his father.. The oligarch attends almost every Dnepr basketball game and actively worries about his offspring. In addition, according to Strana.ua, the oligarch and Dubinsky have intersections in business and in the political sphere, which added pepper to their conflict. Declaration In 2011, Focus magazine estimated the fortune of Igor Kolomoisky at $ 5.323 billion. (No. 2 in the ranking of the 200 richest people in Ukraine, which was compiled by the Focus magazine). In 2009, Forbes magazine estimated the capital of Igor Kolomoisky at $ 1.2 billion.. The publication noted that due to the crisis, the value of Privatbank, which is controlled by Kolomoisky and his partner Gennady Bogolyubov, fell by 75%. In 2009, Focus magazine estimated Kolomoisky's capital at $2.294 billion. In 2007, Korrespondent magazine estimated Igor Kolomoisky's fortune at $3.82 billion. In 2008, the Polish weekly Wprost estimated Kolomoisky's fortune at $11.3 billion. According to the declarations that Kolomoisky filled out in those years when he was the chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration (2014-2015), he owns a land plot of 15 hectares, 6 apartments. His family has two more apartments in use. However, where exactly the property is located is not indicated in the declaration.

The nominal value of securities owned by Kolomoisky in 2015 reached 10 billion hryvnias. And the capital is 16 billion hryvnias. In the declarations, Kolomoisky also noted the receipt of funds from the offshore country – Cyprus in the amount of 142 thousand dollars. Owns a large fleet of vehicles: Bentley, Porsche Boxster, Toyota Land Cruiser 4700, Daimler Сhrysler 6100 and three Mercedes-Benz cars of different models? bmw. Igor Kolomoisky owns elite ski resorts. The property has a part in Ukrainian Bukovel. Lives in Geneva. Has an estate in the village of Nikolskoye-on-Dnepr, located in the Solonyansky district of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Kolomoisky's latest income statement is dated March 2015. Then he indicated that the amount of his total income for one year of being in the chair of the governor amounted to more than 514 million hryvnia.. Most of them (508 million) are income from the alienation of securities and corporate rights. According to the rating compiled by Novoye Vremya magazine together with the Dragon Capital investment company, Kolomoisky was in fourth place among the richest Ukrainians.. His fortune reaches 1.48 billion dollars. Fifth on the list was his long-term partner – Gennady Bogolyubov. He has 1.3 billion.

Conclusions:

Who has a lot of money – that the law is not written. The Ukrainian court and political force are useless against Igor Kolomoisky, because every second deputy of the Verkhovna Rada is “his” person. Deputies can be controlled, the court can be bribed and “it's in the bag”. After all, the situation with corruption in the country is more favorable than ever for the oligarch. And thanks to the control of the 1 + 1 TV channel, people can be manipulated by introducing them with false information that is beneficial to Igor Valerievich, and spoiling the reputation of enemies.
